Old and New: Combining Past and Present In Contemporary Homes by Katherine Sorrell combining the past and present seamlessly for your country style interior.

Enchanted Cottage

I just fell in love with this enchanted, rustic country cottage created by textile artist Robin Brown  who calls the retreat “A Victorian fairy tale“, featured in Country Living.

Gorgeous bedroom with layers of beautiful fabrics and lace.

The working refrigerator was a “horrible brown” when Robin nabbed it for $30 at a yard sale. Then how did it turn shell pink? Her solution for old appliances: “Take it to an automotive painter!” But that’s as far as any refinishing went.

Purple, Blue and Black Cafe

Purple cafe in Minsk designed by Veronica Borovko. Spoons, cups and plates hang on the walls and ceilings in a dark and atmospheric purple, blue and black sea.

Loving the spoon filled ceiling!
