Designer in Focus

Osbourne LA Home

Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne have listed yet another property in their real estate collection, putting their suburban Los Angeles estate on the market for $12.999.

The 6 bed, 10 bath, 11,000 square foot mansion boasts a re-design by interior designer to the stars Martyn Lawrence-Bullard, and was recently featured in Architectural Digest. The home, in the popular celebrity enclave of Hidden Hills, rests on a hill on the 2.25 acre estate, with city lights and mountain views. As you might expect given the listing price, the manse includes numerous luxury features: Travertine flooring, formal dining room, dressing area, formal entry room, maids quarters, gym, library, study, and a pool, among other amenities.

Amazing opulence featured in this home, the designers went on a glamorous and cluttered frenzy, so much going on it’s hard to know where to look but it all works out in the end like a beautiful piece of artwork. This home gives me the same feeling that watching the Disney movie Fantasia does.

Wabi Inspiration

Salon Rouge

From Vogue Living Nov/Dec 2010 designed by Iain Halliday of architectural & interior design firm Burley Katon Halliday. The two bedroom apartment is located in Sydney’s Potts Point.

It’s just amazing what you can do with a predominantly white and red color theme. Amazing large slabs of marble on the floors and the use of damask patterns throughout the home help contribute to the glamorous feel of this home.

Humlegården Apartment

Talk about trippy floors, this is an amazing original project created by Tham & Videgård Hansson Arkitekter. All the color is in the parquetry, walls and frames; by contrast all furniture is kept a stark white. Here is what the architects say about this wonderful work:

Oversized and multicoloured parquet flooring.

Departing from the interior use of colour and pattern developed by Swedish artists and architects like Carl Larsson and Josef Frank, this apartment also relates directly to it’s setting overlooking Humlegården park, where the greenery outside changes with the season. From winter grey and black, to bright and deep green in summer, to orange, red and yellow during autumn.
